Paxful supports over 400 payment methods for buying and selling cryptocurrency. However, some of these options require extra vigilance. As a seller, understanding the specifics of each method is key to protecting your assets and ensuring a smooth trading experience on Paxful.

💵 Cash Payments

  • Always confirm that the buyer deposits the cash in your name and request a receipt.

  • Ensure the person you're trading with is the one making the deposit—avoid third-party involvement.

💻 Online Wallets (e.g., PayPal)

  • Verify that the buyer’s wallet account is confirmed (e.g., a verified PayPal account).

  • Request a valid photo ID and confirm that the name matches both their ID and wallet account.

  • Confirm the buyer owns the account being used—third-party payments pose risks.

  • For added security, ask the buyer to write a confirmation note (including trade ID and amount) and send a photo of it.

Specific tips for PayPal:

  • Request a selfie of the buyer holding their ID and a note stating: “I am making a payment of $X.XX to [your email] + [your name].”

  • Ensure the buyer has enough balance and pays from their account. Payments made by card reduce chargeback risk.

  • Stick to small transactions and limit new users to one trade per day or week.

  • Only accept payments from verified accounts to ensure a linked bank account is present.

  • Confirm that the payment is sent as a single transaction by the account owner.

  • Prefer payments marked as “Friends and Family” when possible.

💳 Debit/Credit Cards

  • These carry similar chargeback risks as online wallets. Apply the same security measures listed above.

🪪 Cards

  • To avoid deactivation, ask for a receipt and ensure the card was purchased with cash.

  • Be cautious of resold cards—third-party cards may be invalid during or after the trade.

  • Request a photo of the card with the buyer’s username and trade ID for verification.

  • Use extra caution with e-codes or cards bought via credit/debit cards, as they can be subject to chargebacks.
