How Do QR Codes Work?

A QR code is a machine-readable pattern of black and white squares designed to simplify and speed up your online wallet trades. By adding a QR code to your Paxful account, you can make trading with your online wallet faster and more convenient.


With a QR code, you can quickly share your online wallet information in the trade chat or while creating an offer. Below, we’ve outlined the steps to add and use a QR code within the Paxful marketplace:



To add a QR code to your Paxful account:


1. Go to your Paxful account’s settings page and select Payment Methods.




2. Scroll down to the Online Wallets section and click Add New.



3. Next, select your wallet name, enter the wallet URL, and assign a nickname to the account.




4. When you’ve finished, click Add.





To modify or remove a QR code linked to your Paxful account:


1. Navigate to your Paxful account settings and click on Payment Details.



2. Choose the online wallet you want to edit or delete.



3. Click on the action you want to perform.




To upload a QR code in the chat:


1. After starting a trade, if you have a QR code linked to your Paxful account, a small QR code icon will appear in the trade chat. Tap the icon to view the list of your connected online wallets.



2. Choose the QR code you want to use. From there, your QR code will be shared in the chat.



Note: When you create a sell offer using an online wallet, your QR code will automatically show up in the trade chat as soon as the trade begins.
If you’re the buyer, simply click the QR code link to access your trade partner’s online wallet.



To create an offer with a QR code:


1. Begin by creating your offer as usual. If you choose an online wallet supported by this feature, you’ll have the option to upload your linked online wallet during the first step:



2. Pick the online wallet you want to use.



3. After that, you can proceed with creating your offer as usual.


Note: If you include a QR code in your offer, its details will automatically be shared in the trade chat as soon as the trade begins.
